The Client: Hammer and Watkinson (View the website)

Project Description: This website project was done through TribalYells’ own Custom Template Package System. A system of proofing and communication that keeps you the client involved yet doesn’t leave you feeling  too bogged down with having to answer questions every few hours. You get on with your business while we get on with our business of creating a new look and feel based on the steps taken in the Custom Template Package System. Hammer and Watkinson was already a myRealPage site owner. That helped with this project. All their content was already in place and we were able to apply the new design right around it. See a large image here.

Java Music Club Website

Java Music Club Website

Posted in: Websites by Paul McEwan on November 15, 2010 | No Comments

Project Description: The Java Music Club is a research-based program that offers an enhanced group environment giving residents living in facilities both a voice and the opportunity to provide mutual support. What sets the Java Music Club apart is a unique and dynamic combination of components which serves to empower residents. The Java Music Club offers mutual help, role models, installs hope, validation of experiences and a sense of belonging, all in one package.

This is the website portion of this project which began first as a creative brief, logo illustration, branding and layout of all marketing materials and finally the website. The website was the easiest part to do since the client was well prepared with content and all other marketing pieces had been designed it was just a matter of transferring that look and feel. This is a WordPress website.

Client Testimonial: “just want to say thank you again – it is beautiful, this new front page and the whole brochure. I am looking at it and thinking how lucky I am to have a killer designer on my side.” ~ Kristine Theurer, Java Music Club

The Client: Monika Furtado (Calgary real estate)

Project Description: This, believe it or not, is not an uploaded custom template. This work was performed as Advanced Administration within the myRealPage login and billed by the hour. Monika sent me an email with her branded mailers attached and asked us to make the website look the same. We widened the website from 750px to 960px, altered the existing website colours, background, links and fonts and reformatted content areas.

Client Testimonial: “Paul was able to work with me in helping me stage my design concepts to fit both my goals and my budget. The results were great, on time and addressed all my goals. I look forward to working with Paul again on the next design feature.

David Setton’s Real Estate Website

David Setton’s Real Estate Website

Posted in: Projects, Websites by Paul McEwan on September 20, 2010 | No Comments

The Client: David Setton, TRG Realty | DavidSetton.com

Project Description: David Setton had a real estate website with a real estate website provider. The branding and design had been applied by a graphic artist other than us. It looked decent enough but the functionality was not up to what David was either expecting or wanted. He had heard about myRealPage and subsequently he heard about TribalYell’s abilities with the myRealPage platform. He had asked us for a simple move of his design over to the myRealPage platform but because the new system offered a wider variety of options to both him and his visitors, we felt a new layout was in order. Maintaining his branding we created content areas and track-able lead-ins that offer choice to the user and functionality for himself. Within a few weeks David has been able to adjust his content to his liking by himself, offering fresh content to visitors on an ongoing basis.

Debra Klassen Advanced Web Administration

Debra Klassen Advanced Web Administration

Posted in: Projects, Websites by Paul McEwan on August 29, 2010 | No Comments

The Client: Debra Klassen as part of RE/MAX Real Estate Services  | DebraKlassen.com

Project Description: This is not a custom template. This is advanced administration completed over a few days for Debra Klassen on the real estate website solution MyRealPage platform. There are an increasing number of clients asking us to tweak their website instead of having a complete re-build. Although this can sometimes save time and money it is often not the case.  We would like to point out a few things to think about if you decide to go this route:

  • There is no mock-up unless you ask for one. We just go in and make changes based on your branding.
  • Your requests can not be specific or abundant. We need to have room to design.
  • If you don’t like what we do, you’ll pay for the changes over and above any errors and omissions.
  • This cannot be done without branding. We will need to start with creating your logo first if you have none.

So we had already done logo work for Debra Klassen and she had a standard myRealPage website template. She works with developers and her personal website is not her primary concern but she wants it to look good. So that’s what we did. No proof. Just web administration to make the site match her brand. MyRealPage makes it possible to tweak a design so customers don’t recognize it as something “Sort of like that other guys site”.

If you aren’t comfortable with the design grab bag idea of advanced administration and want to know what it’s going to look like then add a mock-up to the mix or choose our Custom Template Package that comes with a wire-frame proof; a mock-up proof; and a live proof before publishing.
